The Moscow We Love
Graphic works by Boris Fedotov and porcelain by the Kustodiya studio
When we speak of beloved Moscow streets, courtyards and buildings, we mean not just particular places and architectural landmarks, but whole worlds filled with our memories and emotions. They give a sense of comfort and calm, and they live not only in our hearts but also in the works of artists who managed to capture their unique atmosphere.
The exhibition presents the graphic works of Boris Fedotov — his view of Moscow from the 1960s to the 2000s. The works are remarkable for their distinctive colour and mood: quiet corners of the old city sit side by side with new districts caught up in large-scale construction. There is none of the usual bustle of the capital; instead, the artist conveys the warmth and magic of Moscow life that make the city feel truly alive and personal.
The display is complemented by “architecture in miniature” — porcelain pieces by the Kustodiya studio. These fragile works bring together recognisable images of different eras: from ancient chambers and old mansions to neoclassical buildings, constructivist structures and Soviet panel blocks. The miniatures remind us of the remarkable character of the cityscape, where past and present coexist naturally.
The exhibition is open from 1 October to 15 November. Admission is free.
